MUFC Centennial Suite

We were originally tasked with painting the ceiling and one of the walls in the suite with a gold effect paint. But after meeting the owner and discussing design ideas with him, we came up with the plan to wallpaper the ceiling with a stunning Today Interiors paper that offered a depth of colour that the paint wouldn’t of been able to achieve.

As the photos show, the ceiling was a particularly tricky ceiling to wallpaper, as its curved but it also has 2 big chandeliers that we had to work round and also built in speakers and access panels.

We filled any surface imperfections and then lined the ceiling lengthways to allow us to paper the ceiling crossways. The room is 20ft long which meant we joined to 10ft pieces in the middle and spliced the joints.

We allowed that lining paper to dry overnight and then returned to apply the finish paper. This took time and plenty of patience but the finish product was well worth it.

We also lined and papered 1 of the walls in the suite with the same wallpaper, a much easier prospect!

We are hoping to be able to upload more pictures of the suite once its finished, as there are still tiled floors and miscellaneous other bits to go in. You’ll also note from the light on some of the pictures that we were working in semi-darkness due to the electricity being turned off!
