This project was a fantastic project to be involved in as it was always going to be very tricky to achieve the kind of finish we always aim for. It was quite an old house and the walls and ceiling had been papered a long time ago with a heavily textured lining paper and then painted over many times through the years. This often means that the walls behind the paper are in a terrible condition. Our first task was to strip all the paper off, which took sometime in itself and to then make good all the surfaces ready to be re-lined. The preperation of the walls had to be done meticulously as any slight imperfections would of shown through and ruined the finish. Once lined, and making sure none of the paper joins were visible, the ceiling and walls were painted with a Farrow & Ball estate emulsion. The master bedroom also had to be stripped of the textured paper but rather than re-line we arranged for the whole room to be re-plastered. We left this a week to dry and then mist coated before finishing with two coats of Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt emulsion.
“A very BIG “Thank You” to you and the team for doing such a marvelous job decorating our hall, landing & stairs. We are thrilled to bits and amazed at the speed, efficiency and total professionalism given to the job. Our new carpet has just been laid to that area and we are delighted at how well the colour schemes all match up. We have had no hesitation in passing on your name and our recommendation of your services to several friends and relatives and we hope this leads to some extra business for you in due course.”
